Block Pesky Facebook Apps/Game Requests

Tired of facebook apps getting in your way? Do you get notifications that a friend on your list answered questions about you? Are you tired of people asking you to be their neighbor on farmville?

To be completely honest... I have never been interested in playing the games on facebook yet I receive tons of requests all the time. I appreciate the thought.... really... but I typically don't respond because I just don't have time! I would rather socialize with my friends on facebook instead!!! I do have to admit.... I am guilty of sending out hugs every so often.... but not much and I do like to play scabble on ocassion when I have time... but again.. I don't often have time! LOL! : ) I thought I would let those who are bothered by this know how to block those pesky facebook apps and game requests....

Events - To block events people send... click the home link... click on events... click on respond... at the bottom there is a link that says remove this event... click it... and it will pop up a box saying "Are you sure you want to remove your membership from 'blank - whatever it is that someone sent you an invite for"?, then there's a box under it saying "Ignore invites from "?"... click the box... click remove... and you have blocked them for sending you any more event invitations.

Games/Applications like @ hugs... show some love... so and so answered a question about you... etc. - in the same home area as before... click on "app requests" on the left hand side... you will see people who have requested you to send them a hug or show love etc... click the x button available to the right off the application information at the top of the page pane... you will see " Block ♥ Show Some Love! ♥? Ignore all requests from no name" directly to the left of the writing... click the block link! You will see a pop up window that says... "Blocking ♥ Show Some Love! ♥ will prevent others from sending you invitations and requests for this app and will prevent this app from getting any info about you." Click ok! Then you are done! The app request will then disappear!

Warning - Fake Computer Virus Window Pop Up! SCAM!

There is an executable program that creates havoc on your computer when it pops up and unfortunately computer users don’t know what to do to protect themselves!

The mistake computer users make... is that they click on the fake computer virus screen..... and that’s when their computers are unfortunately compromised!

As computer users... it’s your duty to become familiar with things you need to do to keep your computer healthy (protected) and working at full capacity...

Take a look at this screen shot of the "virus scan" executable at work....

Scenario: You are on a random site... and a screen pops up with these flashing/moving numbers saying you have X amount of viruses affecting your computer (see picture above) and offers a button to click to get virus protection so that you can stop this “virus” from attacking.... but it’s a scam. That’s right..... it’s FAKE! DO NOT CLICK ANYTHING!

Crooks devised this scam in order to take your money and credit card information. Typically this executable "virus scan" takes control of your computer after the computer owner clicks on the pop up window (clicking ok, clicking cancel, or anything else on that pop up screen). Once you click on it (doesn’t matter where you click)... it downloads and deeply embeds itself into your computer files and causes problems from there. If this has happened to you.... please understand... it’s NOT a virus..... it’s an executable program that just acts like a virus!

It's an executable program that kicks in at random times. It’s just sitting there waiting to attack. That’s it’s job... You browse the web...... and let’s say this happens on a website... this website didn’t necessarily cause this issue to happen. Typically.... the issue happens randomly. Unless you just bought a computer, took it out of the box, set it up and visited a site and had this execute popup occur immediately.... it could come from any site that had been visited while using that computer... and then just triggered later on. Your computer collects cookies.... and it could be in one of your cookies.....just laying there waiting for the time it was created to attack and then boom.... you click on it...... and it then downloads a executable that is created to cause issues with your computer until you purchase the virus protection it offers! Please understand this happens randomly..... and can happen on any website...... any forum..... with any browser... with any operating system.

Just so you know.... even if you purchase the virus protection (incidentally there is no virus protection.... you will just give them your money & credit card information and that's the point of the entire thing.... they want to scam you for your money)... you still have to go deep into your files in order to remove that dirty little exe in order to gain control of your computer back or you have to do a complete computer restore. Anything like this can happen on any site... randomly....... you just have to be equipped with information to know what to do if it happens to you!

Here's some tips to keep your computer healthy.....

Healthy computers… make happy users! That’s right… when your computer is unhealthy… does that make you happy? No… of course not! Making sure you do these simple tips below… will keep your computer healthy… while keeping you HAPPY!

If there is a popup window that takes over your computer...... DO NOT CLICK IT! Instead...... go to your keyboard and push these buttons... “ctrl” “alt” “delete” simultaneously! Click end task...... and viola your computer was saved!

Make sure you have a good antivirus on your computer. Norton and McAffee are USELESS! AVG, BitDefender, Kasperski (just to name a few) are excellent and AFFORDABLE antiviruses... and offer a wide range of protection.

Make sure you allow the antivirus to do automatic updates.... so that you don’t have to be bothered with the updates. It will help with the health of your computer......

Make sure you take the time to delete your cookies.... in other words delete your history. Make sure you delete everything... Don’t know how? Go to the top of your browser...... click “tools”..... click “internet options”... read down...... to browsing history. There should be a box to check to “delete browsing history on exit”. Click it..... so that it’s checked. On the right..... it will have buttons available.... where you can actually manually click “delete” to remove any temporary files. It’s important to do these things and it will prevent issues like this from happening to YOUR computer...

7 Things About Me:

1.) I personally feel I have to be the luckiest woman in the entire world. I have a loving wonderful family and I get to be with them all the time because I work from home! I get to choose my own hours and because I'm the boss.... I can take a day off or go to events anytime I want! Most importantly... I can be around when my kids or husband need me..... which makes me and them the happiest!

2.) I am thankful every morning for waking up next to my very loving, handsome, wonderful, sweet, kind, thoughtful, supportive, amazing husband.

3.) I am the mommy of 5 really amazing, sweet, loving, smart, beautiful kids who I love more than anything!!!

4.) I love my job so much that I can't imagine not doing it. It would break my heart.

5.) I am a very sarcastic person who likes to cut up with my family. We are always laughing and joking around. The sound of my children's or husband's laughter... is music to my ears! I just love it! I have found that laughter is a great medicine! Whenever one of the kids are upset..... I will do my best to make them giggle and laugh.... and whatever is upsetting them goes away!

How Far Would YOU Go To Please YOUR Child?

What adult who wants a daughter to grow up with high self-esteem would even consider purchasing such items as these? No successful retailer would consider introducing an item like a padded bikini top for kindergarteners if they didn't think people would buy it.

It's easy to blast companies for introducing the sexy wear, but our ire really should be directed at the parents who think low rise jeans for a second grader is cute. They are the ones who are spending the money to fuel this budding trend. They are the ones who are suppose to decide what's appropriate for their young children to wear, not executives looking to brew up controversy or turn a profit.

Friends bow to peer pressure. I get it, Rihanna, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, etc are really popular. But that's a pretty weak reason for someone to dress their little girl like her. Parents NEED to say, "No, and that's the end of it."

In 2007, the American Psychological Association's Task Force on the Sexualization of Girls issued a report linking early sexualization with three of the most common mental-health problems of girls and women: eating disorders, low self-esteem and depression. There's nothing inherently wrong with parents wanting to appease their daughters by buying them the latest fashions. But is getting cool points today worth the harm dressing little girls like this could cause tomorrow?

A line needs to be drawn, but not by Abercrombie. Not by Britney Spears. And not by these little girls who don't know better and desperately need their parents to be parents and not 40-year-old BFFs! Parents should be doing their job as parents not acting like their children's FRIEND. The line NEEDS to be drawn by the PARENTS! PERIOD!

WARNING - PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM ANGELA SPERRY-WENKE'S GRAPHIC COMPANIES! ANGIE SCAMMED ME OUT OF MY MONEY!

On Nov 26, 2010... I ordered a 9 CD set of graphics ($65.99) from Angela Sperry-Wenke, owner of Resale Clipart (http://resaleclipart.com)!

It is now March 14, 2011 (4 months from the time of purchase!) & I STILL have not received the 9 CD set of graphics I purchased from Angie!

I have contacted them repeatedly asking them to please provide me the product I purchased... they have promised on several occasions that they would mail the 9 CD set of graphics to me yet... I still have not received what I purchased! It's like she doesn't care that I didn't get what I paid for... like she doesn't care about her reputation! I mean... what kind of business doesn't care about their reputation? I just don't get some people sometimes!

It's so hurtful... disrespectful.... frustrating... disheartening.... and upsetting to be taken advantage of like that! To be SCAMMED out of my hard earned money! I can get graphics anywhere... IT'S THE PRINCIPAL OF THE WHOLE THING!

Obviously, I will never buy from them again and I don't suggest anyone else buy from them either. I have alot of designer friends who use them for graphics... well not anymore... many of them told me that they are going to stay as far from Angie as they can get!

I called PayPal and opened a dispute on Angie so hopefully that will allow me to see some kind of resolution to this scam she ran on me! We will see what they have to say...

GOOD NEWS! After 4 months... I finally received the 9 CD set of graphics. Actually I received an 11 CD set of graphics. She also offered me a $65 coupon for graphics good for a year as well. I am so glad to finally get the set of graphics finally... but it's still sad that I had to go through all of this in order to get what I paid for over 4 months ago. At least I got the CD set though... plus 2 extra CDs and a coupon. I don't think I will ever purchase from her again out of fear that she won't provide what I pay for.... but at least a resolution was reached. Thank you Angie... for finally delivering...

WARNING - Are The New Facebook Settings Affecting You!?!

PLEASE READ! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO EVERYONE WHO USES FACEBOOK FOR BUSINESS OR PERSONAL REASONS.

Have you noticed that you are only seeing updates in your newsfeed from the same people lately? Have you also noticed that when you post things like status messages, photos and links, the same circle of people are commenting and everyone else seems to be ignoring you? The problem is that a large chunk of your friend/fan list can't see anything you post and here's why:

The "New Facebook" has a newsfeed setting that by default is automatically set to show ONLY posts from people who you've recently interacted with or interacted the most with (which would be limited to the couple of weeks just before people started switching to the new profile). So in other words, for both business and personal pages, unless your friends/fans commented on one of your posts within those few weeks or vice versa - you are now invisible to them and they are invisible to you!!

HERE'S THE FIX: On the homepage click the "Most Recent" title on the right of the Newsfeed, then click the drop down arrow and select "Edit Options", click on "Show Posts From" and change the setting to "All Of Your Friends and Pages" (you can also access the "Edit Options" link at the very bottom of the facebook homepage on the right)
Note: This is the fix for personal pages but I am unsure of whether or not the business pages are set up the same way.

Simply posting an update about it won't do any good because lots of your friends/fans already can't see your posts by default. You'll either have to send out a message to everyone on your list (which I'm not even sure business pages can do and is a rather tedious method) or post an event explaining the situation and invite your entire fan base and/or friend list. You can also tweet about it, create a blog post or send out an email to your subscribers in hopes of reaching them all.
Shame on facebook for altering the default setting and not telling people about it! Just think about how many companies posted Christmas sales and discounts without having any idea that their customers couldn't see the updates.

I wanted to tell everyone about my buying experience with Rachel & Steve, owners of Our Creative Hands! I believe EVERYONE will agree.... that this is a FABULOUS FIND!

Female Heart Attack Symptoms! Be In The Know! Get Informed!

I did not know what the symptoms were of a Heart Attack until I read it. I knew they were not the dramatic chest pains... but I was told they were more like flu symptoms! So every time I had the flu... I would worry the entire time..... but this account did not sound anything like the flu.

So I thought I would pass this information to all of my readers... incase any of you don't know!

Women are normally the care givers of the family, we have to remember to recognize all type of symptoms to prevent something this serious.

ALL women need to know the FACTS! We women..... need to stay empowered! : ) Information.... is POWER!!! : ) Embrace YOUR awesomeness! : )

FEMALE HEART ATTACKS
Women and heart attacks (Myocardial infarction). Did you know that women rarely
have the same dramatic symptoms that men have when experiencing heart attack?
You know, the sudden stabbing pain in the chest, the cold sweat, grabbing the
chest and dropping to the floor that we see in the movies?

Here is the story of one woman's experience with a heart attack...

"I had a heart attack at about 10:30 PM with NO prior exertion, NO
prior emotional trauma that one would suspect might have brought it on.
I was sitting all snugly and warm on a cold evening, with my purring
cat in my lap, reading an interesting story my friend had sent me, and
actually thinking, 'A-A-h, this is the life', all cozy and warm in my
soft, cushy Lazy Boy with my feet propped up.

A moment later, I felt that awful sensation of indigestion, when you've
been in a hurry and grabbed a bite of sandwich and washed it down with
a dash of water, and that hurried bite seems to feel like you've
swallowed a golf ball going down the esophagus in slow motion and it is
most uncomfortable. You realize you shouldn't have gulped it down so
fast and needed to chew it more thoroughly and this time drink a glass
of water to hasten its progress down to the stomach. This was my
initial sensation---the only trouble was that I hadn't taken a bite of
anything since about 5:00 PM.

After it seemed to subside, the next sensation was like little
squeezing motions that seemed to be racing up my SPINE (hind-sight, it
was probably my aorta spasms), gaining speed as they continued racing
up and under my sternum (breast bone, where one presses rhythmically
when administering CPR).

This fascinating process continued on into my throat and branched out
into both jaws. AHA!! NOW I stopped puzzling about what was happening
-- we all have read and/or heard about pain in the jaws being one of
the signals of an MI happening, haven't we? I said aloud to myself and
the cat, 'Dear God, I think I'm having a heart attack'!

I lowered the foot rest dumping the cat from my lap, started to take a
step and fell on the floor instead. I thought to myself, If this is a
heart attack, I shouldn't be walking into the next room where the phone
is or anywhere else ... But, on the other hand, if I don't, nobody will
know that I need help, and if I wait any longer I may not be able to
get up in a moment.

I pulled myself up with the arms of the chair, walked slowly into the
next room and dialed the Paramedics .... I told her I thought I was
having a heart attack due to the pressure building under the sternum
and radiating into my jaws. I didn't feel hysterical or afraid, just
stating the facts. She said she was sending the Paramedics over
immediately, asked if the front door was near to me, and if so, to
un-bolt the door and then lie down on the floor where they could see me
when they came in.
I unlocked the door and then laid down on the floor as instructed and
lost consciousness, as I don't remember the medics coming in, their
examination, lifting me onto a gurney or getting me into their
ambulance, or hearing the call they made to St. Jude ER on the way, but
I did briefly awaken when we arrived and saw that the radiologist was
already there in his surgical blues and cap, helping the medics pull my
stretcher out of the ambulance. He was bending over me asking
questions (probably something like 'Have you taken any medications?')
but I couldn't make my mind interpret what he was saying, or form an
answer, and nodded off again, not waking up until the Cardiologist and his
partnerhad already threaded the teeny angiogram balloon up my femoral arteryinto
the aorta and into my heart where they installed two side by side
stints to hold open my right coronary artery.

I knowit sounds like all my thinking and actions at home must have taken at
least 20-30 minutes before calling the paramedics, but actually it took
perhaps 4-5 minutes before the call, and both the fire station and St.
Jude are only minutes away from my home, and my Cardiologist was all
ready to go to the OR in his scrubs and get going on restarting my
heart (which had stopped somewhere between my arrival and the
procedure) and installing the stints.

1. Beaware that something very different is happening in your body not theusual
men's symptoms but inexplicable things happening (until my sternum and jaws got into the act). It is said that many more women than men die of their first (and
last) MI because they didn't know they were having one and commonly mistake it
as indigestion, take some Maalox or other anti-heartburn preparation and go to
bed, hoping they'll feel better in the morning when they wake up ... which
doesn't happen. My female friends, your symptoms might not be exactly likemine,
so I advise you to call the Paramedics if ANYTHING is unpleasantly happening
that you've not felt before. It is better to have a 'false alarm' visitation
than to risk your life guessing what it might be!

2. Note that I said 'Call the Paramedics.' And if you can, take an aspirin. Ladies, TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE! Do NOT try to drive yourself to the ER - you are a hazard to others on the road. Do NOT have your panicked husband who will be speeding and looking
anxiously at what's happening with you instead of the road. Do NOT
call your doctor -- he doesn't know where you live and if it's at night
you won't reach him anyway, and if it's daytime, his assistants (or
answering service) will tell you to call the Paramedics. He doesn't
carry the equipment in his car that you need to be saved! The
Paramedics do, principally OXYGEN that you need ASAP. Your Dr. will be
notified later.

3. Don't assume it couldn't be a heart attack because you have a normal
cholesterol count. Research has discovered that a cholesterol elevated
reading is rarely the cause of an MI (unless it's unbelievably high
and/or accompanied by high blood pressure).
MIs are usually caused by long-term stress and inflammation in the
body, which dumps all sorts of deadly hormones into your system to
sludge things up in there. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound
sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better
chance we could survive.
Why have I written all of this to you with so much detail? Because I want all
of you who are so important in my life to know what I learned first hand."

Know The Facts About Aspartame! What You Don't Know WILL Hurt YOU! Protect Yourself & Your Family's Health!

This information was posted in a group that I am a member of. This article was not written by me...

Aspartame is, by far, the most dangerous substance on the market that is added to foods.

Aspartame is the technical name for the brand names NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, and Equal-Measure. It was discovered by accident in 1965 when James Schlatter, a chemist of G.D. Searle Company, was testing an anti-ulcer drug.

Aspartame was approved for dry goods in 1981 and for carbonated beverages in 1983. It was originally approved for dry goods on July 26, 1974, but objections filed by neuroscience researcher Dr John W. Olney and Consumer attorney James Turner in August 1974 as well as investigations of G.D. Searle's research practices caused the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to put approval of aspartame on hold (December 5, 1974). In 1985, Monsanto purchased G.D. Searle and made Searle Pharmaceuticals and The NutraSweet Company separate subsidiaries.

Aspartame accounts for over 75 percent of the adverse reactions to food additives reported to the FDA. Many of these reactions are very serious including seizures and death.(1) A few of the 90 different documented symptoms listed in the report as being caused by aspartame include: Headaches/migraines, dizziness, seizures, nausea, numbness, muscle spasms, weight gain, rashes, depression, fatigue, irritability, tachycardia, insomnia, vision problems, hearing loss, heart palpitations, breathing difficulties, anxiety attacks, slurred speech, loss of taste, tinnitus, vertigo, memory loss, and joint pain.

According to researchers and physicians studying the adverse effects of aspartame, the following chronic illnesses can be triggered or worsened by ingesting of aspartame:(2) Brain tumors, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, chronic fatigue syndrome, parkinson's disease, alzheimer's, mental retardation, lymphoma, birth defects, fibromyalgia, and diabetes.

Aspartame is made up of three chemicals: aspartic acid, phenylalanine, and methanol. The book "Prescription for Nutritional Healing," by James and Phyllis Balch, lists aspartame under the category of "chemical poison." As you shall see, that is exactly what it is.

Dr. Russell L. Blaylock, a professor of neurosurgery at the Medical University of Mississippi, recently published a book thoroughly detailing the damage that is caused by the ingestion of excessive aspartic acid from aspartame. Blaylock makes use of almost 500 scientific references to show how excess free excitatory amino acids such as aspartic acid and glutamic acid (about 99 percent of monosodium glutamate (MSG) is glutamic acid) in our food supply are causing serious chronic neurological disorders and a myriad of other acute symptoms.(3)

How Aspartate (and Glutamate) Cause Damage
Aspartate and glutamate act as neurotransmitters in the brain by facilitating the transmission of information from neuron to neuron. Too much aspartate or glutamate in the brain kills certain neurons by allowing the influx of too much calcium into the cells. This influx triggers excessive amounts of free radicals, which kill the cells. The neural cell damage that can be caused by excessive aspartate and glutamate is why they are referred to as "excitotoxins." They "excite" or stimulate the neural cells to death.

Aspartic acid is an amino acid. Taken in its free form (unbound to proteins) it significantly raises the blood plasma level of aspartate and glutamate. The excess aspartate and glutamate in the blood plasma shortly after ingesting aspartame or products with free glutamic acid (glutamate precursor) leads to a high level of those neurotransmitters in certain areas of the brain.

The blood brain barrier (BBB), which normally protects the brain from excess glutamate and aspartate as well as toxins, 1) is not fully developed during childhood, 2) does not fully protect all areas of the brain, 3) is damaged by numerous chronic and acute conditions, and 4) allows seepage of excess glutamate and aspartate into the brain even when intact.

The excess glutamate and aspartate slowly begin to destroy neurons. The large majority (75 percent or more) of neural cells in a particular area of the brain are killed before any clinical symptoms of a chronic illness are noticed. A few of the many chronic illnesses that have been shown to be contributed to by long-term exposure to excitatory amino acid damage include:

•Multiple sclerosis (MS)
•ALS
•Memory loss
•Hormonal problems
•Hearing loss
•Epilepsy
•Alzheimer's disease
•Parkinson's disease
•Hypoglycemia
•AIDS
•Dementia
•Brain lesions
•Neuroendocrine disorders

The risk to infants, children, pregnant women, the elderly and persons with certain chronic health problems from excitotoxins are great. Even the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB), which usually understates problems and mimics the FDA party-line, recently stated in a review that:

"It is prudent to avoid the use of dietary supplements of L-glutamic acid by pregnant women, infants, and children. The existence of evidence of potential endocrine responses, i.e., elevated cortisol and prolactin, and differential responses between males and females, would also suggest a neuroendocrine link and that supplemental L-glutamic acid should be avoided by women of childbearing age and individuals with affective disorders."(4)

Aspartic acid from aspartame has the same deleterious effects on the body as glutamic acid.

The exact mechanism of acute reactions to excess free glutamate and aspartate is currently being debated. As reported to the FDA, those reactions include:(5)

•Headaches/migraines
•Nausea
•Abdominal pains
•Fatigue (blocks sufficient glucose entry into brain)
•Sleep problems
•Vision problems
•Anxiety attacks
•Depression
•Asthma/chest tigShtness.

One common complaint of persons suffering from the effect of aspartame is memory loss. Ironically, in 1987, G.D. Searle, the manufacturer of aspartame, undertook a search for a drug to combat memory loss caused by excitatory amino acid damage. Blaylock is one of many scientists and physicians who are concerned about excitatory amino acid damage caused by ingestion of aspartame and MSG.

A few of the many experts who have spoken out against the damage being caused by aspartate and glutamate include Adrienne Samuels, Ph.D., an experimental psychologist specializing in research design. Another is Olney, a professor in the department of psychiatry, School of Medicine, Washington University, a neuroscientist and researcher, and one of the world's foremost authorities on excitotoxins. (He informed Searle in 1971 that aspartic acid caused holes in the brains of mice.)

Phenylalanine (50 percent of aspartame)
Phenylalanine is an amino acid normally found in the brain. Persons with the genetic disorder phenylketonuria (PKU) cannot metabolize phenylalanine. This leads to dangerously high levels of phenylalanine in the brain (sometimes lethal). It has been shown that ingesting aspartame, especially along with carbohydrates, can lead to excess levels of phenylalanine in the brain even in persons who do not have PKU.

This is not just a theory, as many people who have eaten large amounts of aspartame over a long period of time and do not have PKU have been shown to have excessive levels of phenylalanine in the blood. Excessive levels of phenylalanine in the brain can cause the levels of seratonin in the brain to decrease, leading to emotional disorders such as depression. It was shown in human testing that phenylalanine levels of the blood were increased significantly in human subjects who chronically used aspartame.(6)

Even a single use of aspartame raised the blood phenylalanine levels. In his testimony before the U.S. Congress, Dr. Louis J. Elsas showed that high blood phenylalanine can be concentrated in parts of the brain and is especially dangerous for infants and fetuses. He also showed that phenylalanine is metabolised much more effeciently by rodents than by humans.(7)

One account of a case of extremely high phenylalanine levels caused by aspartame was recently published the "Wednesday Journal" in an article titled "An Aspartame Nightmare." John Cook began drinking six to eight diet drinks every day. His symptoms started out as memory loss and frequent headaches. He began to crave more aspartame-sweetened drinks. His condition deteriorated so much that he experienced wide mood swings and violent rages. Even though he did not suffer from PKU, a blood test revealed a phenylalanine level of 80 mg/dl. He also showed abnormal brain function and brain damage. After he kicked his aspartame habit, his symptoms improved dramatically.(8)

As Blaylock points out in his book, early studies measuring phenylalanine buildup in the brain were flawed. Investigators who measured specific brain regions and not the average throughout the brain notice significant rises in phenylalanine levels. Specifically the hypothalamus, medulla oblongata, and corpus striatum areas of the brain had the largest increases in phenylalanine. Blaylock goes on to point out that excessive buildup of phenylalanine in the brain can cause schizophrenia or make one more susceptible to seizures.

Therefore, long-term, excessive use of aspartame may provid a boost to sales of seratonin reuptake inhibitors such as Prozac and drugs to control schizophrenia and seizures.

Methanol (aka wood alcohol/poison) (10 percent of aspartame)
Methanol/wood alcohol is a deadly poison. Some people may remember methanol as the poison that has caused some "skid row" alcoholics to end up blind or dead. Methanol is gradually released in the small intestine when the methyl group of aspartame encounter the enzyme chymotrypsin.

The absorption of methanol into the body is sped up considerably when free methanol is ingested. Free methanol is created from aspartame when it is heated to above 86 Fahrenheit (30 Centigrade). This would occur when aspartame-containing product is improperly stored or when it is heated (e.g., as part of a "food" product such as Jello).

Methanol breaks down into formic acid and formaldehyde in the body. Formaldehyde is a deadly neurotoxin. An EPA assessment of methanol states that methanol "is considered a cumulative poison due to the low rate of excretion once it is absorbed. In the body, methanol is oxidized to formaldehyde and formic acid; both of these metabolites are toxic." They recommend a limit of consumption of 7.8 mg/day. A one-liter (approx. 1 quart) aspartame-sweetened beverage contains about 56 mg of methanol. Heavy users of aspartame-containing products consume as much as 250 mg of methanol daily or 32 times the EPA limit.(9)

Symptoms from methanol poisoning include headaches, ear buzzing, dizziness, nausea, gastrointestinal disturbances, weakness, vertigo, chills, memory lapses, numbness and shooting pains in the extremities, behavioral disturbances, and neuritis. The most well known problems from methanol poisoning are vision problems including misty vision, progressive contraction of visual fields, blurring of vision, obscuration of vision, retinal damage, and blindness. Formaldehyde is a known carcinogen, causes retinal damage, interferes with DNA replication and causes birth defects.(10)

Due to the lack of a couple of key enzymes, humans are many times more sensitive to the toxic effects of methanol than animals. Therefore, tests of aspartame or methanol on animals do not accurately reflect the danger for humans. As pointed out by Dr. Woodrow C. Monte, director of the food science and nutrition laboratory at Arizona State University, "There are no human or mammalian studies to evaluate the possible mutagenic, teratogenic or carcinogenic effects of chronic administration of methyl alcohol."(11)

He was so concerned about the unresolved safety issues that he filed suit with the FDA requesting a hearing to address these issues. He asked the FDA to "slow down on this soft drink issue long enough to answer some of the important questions. It's not fair that you are leaving the full burden of proof on the few of us who are concerned and have such limited resources. You must remember that you are the American public's last defense. Once you allow usage (of aspartame) there is literally nothing I or my colleagues can do to reverse the course. Aspartame will then join saccharin, the sulfiting agents, and God knows how many other questionable compounds enjoined to insult the human constitution with governmental approval."(10) Shortly thereafter, the Commissioner of the FDA, Arthur Hull Hayes, Jr., approved the use of aspartame in carbonated beverages, he then left for a position with G.D. Searle's public relations firm.(11)

It has been pointed out that some fruit juices and alcoholic beverages contain small amounts of methanol. It is important to remember, however, that methanol never appears alone. In every case, ethanol is present, usually in much higher amounts. Ethanol is an antidote for methanol toxicity in humans.(9) The troops of Desert Storm were "treated" to large amounts of aspartame-sweetened beverages, which had been heated to over 86 degrees F in the Saudi Arabian sun. Many of them returned home with numerous disorders similar to what has been seen in persons who have been chemically poisoned by formaldehyde. The free methanol in the beverages may have been a contributing factor in these illnesses. Other breakdown products of aspartame such as DKP (discussed below) may also have been a factor.

In a 1993 act that can only be described as "unconscionable," the FDA approved aspartame as an ingredient in numerous food items that would always be heated to above 86 degree F (30 degree C).

Diketopiperazine (DKP)
DKP is a byproduct of aspartame metabolism. DKP has been implicated in the occurrence of brain tumors. Olney noticed that DKP, when nitrosated in the gut, produced a compound that was similar to N-nitrosourea, a powerful brain tumor causing chemical. Some authors have said that DKP is produced after aspartame ingestion. I am not sure if that is correct. It is definitely true that DKP is formed in liquid aspartame-containing products during prolonged storage.

G.D. Searle conducted animal experiments on the safety of DKP. The FDA found numerous experimental errors occurred, including "clerical errors, mixed-up animals, animals not getting drugs they were supposed to get, pathological specimens lost because of improper handling," and many other errors.(12) These sloppy laboratory procedures may explain why both the test and control animals had sixteen times more brain tumors than would be expected in experiments of this length.

In an ironic twist, shortly after these experimental errors were discovered, the FDA used guidelines recommended by G.D. Searle to develop the industry-wide FDA standards for good laboratory practices.(11)

DKP has also been implicated as a cause of uterine polyps and changes in blood cholesterol by FDA Toxicologist Dr. Jacqueline Verrett in her testimony before the U.S. Senate.(13)

Diane created this amazing fun and creative baby clothing gift sundae for my friend... who's son and daughter in law just had a baby girl!This is my friend's first grand baby... so I wanted to do something special for them! Having a granddaughter... was a real treat! She was so excited!

Kim created the most PERFECT Christmas Photo Card for my family this year... in all of the colors that I love the most for Christmas! It's so beautiful! The Christmas Photo Card design is very elegant & it speaks volumes for her abilities as a designer! Kim worked very hard to provide me the exact custom design I wanted and I am very appreciative of all the work she put into my design and I can not emphasize enough how thrilled I am with her work! So Many Cute Bags - Large Utility Tote

YAY!!!! I WON A CONTEST! That's right... I won! I can't believe it.... I hardly ever win anything!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!

I participated in Kandi Traxel's (owner of Simply Melt Away - http://simplymeltaway.com) Online Holiday Bingo Game and I was a VERY lucky winner of a large utility tote from Phyllis O'Neill, owner of So Many Cute Bags.com!

Almost immediately after winning the item.... Phyllis contacted me to find out specifics for the item I won.

She asked for my shipping information of course... what design I would like the tote in..... if I wanted it monogrammed, what color I wanted the monogram, everything! She even threw in a monogrammed zipper pouch too! Talk about an amazing win! : )

Phyllis must have sensed that I was confused because in the course of emails... she offered to talk with me if I didn't know what I wanted to do! What a relief... because I really had no clue what I was going to pick... so I took her up on her phone call offer!

Phyllis was a pro on the phone... she helped me make decisions the entire way through! Phyllis walked me through the entire ordering process and she was super sweet the entire time! She really knows here stuff!!!! Phyllis made deciding and going through the process for me.... SUPER EASY! I even asked a few stupid questions (I admit it.... I ask those sometimes) and she made me feel as if I had asked the most normal question there was.

I received the large utility tote in the mail.... and I was so thrilled and impressed beyond belief! It was exactly as I had expected! It was packed and shipped perfectly..... quality craftsmanship all the way! This oversized durable large utility tote holds a LOT of stuff! We go to the library alot... and we can fit all of the books in there easily! It would also be perfect for shopping trips, sporting equipment, tailgating, camping trips, tools, etc. It even has a covered rim that keeps the bag open to carry bulky items easily and then easily collapses for storage. I LOVE IT!

Brya's Specialty Baskets - Custom Created Sympathy Gift Basket

First... I am not a first time customer of Brya’s. I am pretty sure all of my readers know that by now! : ) I am a loyal customer and I don’t know what I would do without Diane! I have purchased bath salts, soaps, and gift baskets (birthday gift baskets & an absolutely adorable baby clothing sundae).

You can’t beat Diane's products!! Outstanding quality but the bath and body products is not why I am doing a product review for Brya’s Specialty Gift Baskets - (http://www.bryasspecialtygiftbaskets.com).

The reason I am doing a review for Diane is because of the way she treated me when my husband and I lost one of our favorite Uncles! Our Uncle was a family man... loving..... kind...... loved every second of the time he could steal with his children and family. He passed away and his wife, his children, and we were crushed!!

I told Diane that I needed her to create a custom sympathy gift basket for our Aunt with all of her favorite items..... and that is exactly what she did. She went above and beyond though... because she was so kind and took time out of her busy day to console me while I was so upset! I have never had a company do that before. She really gives of herself to her customers.... and that is truly unique and rare!

My Aunt is a tea lover and she loves honey and chocolates... so that’s what Diane placed in the basket... a big array of all of the things she loves. What amazed me... is that Diane suggested a journal to write her feelings into... to help her cope with the loss of the man she loved deeply and was married to for over 50 years.

When my Aunt received her specialty gift basket... she called me... I could hear her voice quiver on the verge of tears... and she told me how much she loved the basket... how perfectly it was packed... how she was having a hard time picking out which tea and honey to try first... and that the chocolates were already open and tasted! She especially noted how much she appreciated the journal. She told me that she planned to write about their love and life together...

Diane, owner of Brya’s Specialty Gift Basket helped me give my Aunt a little bit of solace.... A little bit of comfort at such a horrible moment in her life. Diane’s gift basket that she took the time to create..... helped me touch my Aunt’s life.... my Aunt's heart!

Thank you Diane...... for going above and beyond for your customer.... and for helping me comfort my dear Aunt!

Warning - Complaints Again Cardaccept Payment Source

WARNING!!!! If you get mail, an email or a phone call from Cardaccept.... DO NOT fall for it! A friend of mine told me what she went through when dealing with Cardaccept... so I did a search for "Cardaccept scam" and there it was... several people had complained about them! I thought my readers should know about them! Are you curious how Cardaccept works? Do you want to know what happened when my friend had dealings with Cardaccept? If so, read below...

With Cardaccept she paid $15 gateway fee, $10 minimum transaction fee, $10 statement fee and taxes. Her total bill with them was $39.50 plus she had to have a Data Phone (Sprint) for $27.00 & all this had to be paid wether she was getting sales or not....!!!! She tried to cancel her account with Cardaccept since 10/28 and finally got to talk to someone in their Customer Service Department. The customer service rep told my friend that there was a $300 early termination fee! THAT'S RIGHT... they will charge you a $300 termination fee!!!!

My friend was livid... but had no other choice but to accept the $300 charge in order to start the cancellation process!!! After the customer service rep said she would cancel the account, my friend had to send 3 more emails and make 2 more telephone (long distance - at my friend's expense) calls to finally find out that they cancelled the account on 11/5!

I find that alot of people get discouraged and just give up without truly reaching for the stars...(or bubbles in the picture). Everyone has dreams... and the best present you can give yourself.... is to take time to discover your talents and follow your dreams!

I have been established in business for SEVERAL years now! I went from just a few hits a month to thousands of hits a month, so if I can do it... so can you! A lot of people who open a business expect it to take off immediately... but it doesn't work like that. It just doesn't! It takes time, work, money, nurturing, and A LOT of patience! Websites don't usually take off for at least 2 years after it's started. There is no get rich quick scheme when it comes to business! If you are starting a business out of desperation needing money you are starting it for the wrong reason. A business is like a child... it needs attention, nurturing, and you must be able to re-invest back into your business for it to succeed. As a successful business owner... I have seen several WAHM businesses close their doors because of impatience, frustration, the economy, and feelings of defeat. Please don't allow these feelings to defeat your dream! Patience is the most important thing to remember.

Promoting your website is a lot of work but it is CRUCIAL to the success of your business! You can have the most beautiful design and most amazing products; however, if you don’t promote your website... your business will go NOWHERE fast! Networking is a VERY important part of owning a business! You need to spend time promoting your website by networking (participating in banner/link exchanges, joining networking groups, getting a newsletter going for your business, promoting your website on the social media outlets... like facebook, twitter, blogging)!

You will also need to make sure your SEO keywords are right on your website pages, you’ll need to see your business as a baby that needs nurturing... (after all.... you wouldn’t expect your newborn to run would you?), re-invest your money back into your business, ALWAYS carry business cards with you so that if you talk about your business you can pass them out, and be patient!

People also want to buy from professional looking websites with clear pictures, people they know they can count on, people they know stand behind their products. Quality products and affordable prices are also VERY important.

Getting a business off the ground is A LOT OF WORK... but it is able to be accomplished and success can happen to anyone!! If you do all of these things... you can accomplish what I have done too!! It’s all worth the time spent networking because it DOES work! I know..... because I am proof of the success you can reach through promotion of my website!

If so... then you are asking a terrific question! Whether you can participate in the ALL of the web forms of promotional tips depends solely on which kind of website you have.

There are two kinds of websites...

Privately Owned Websites - Privately owned websites are websites that are owned specifically and completely by the owner. The owner is allowed (because they are the owners) to place link exchanges, blog buttons or links, top 100buttons or links, networking group buttons or links, & anything else. If this is your kind of website.... then you can use all of my Top 20 Ways To Promote Your Website tips!

Corporate Websites (or Etsy Shop users) - Corporate websites are websites that are owned by businesses or corporations (like Scentsy, Avon, Just Jewelry, Mia Bella Candles, etc) that create the products but allow you to sell their products as consultants. Some corporations (like Scentsy, etc) allow their consultants to have external websites as well but they will NOT allow you to promote or link back to others. PERIOD.

Ways Owners Of Corporate Websites Can Promote For FREE Or Low-Cost Too...

2.) Email Signature Line - Add your website link, blog link (if you have one), social media links and any advertisements you have going on to your email signature line! Adding this information to your email signature link is one of the greatest forms of promotions you can do for your business! Every time you send emails... the people who receive them have access to your links... This is very important especially if you are new to having a business website.

3.) Join Social Media Networking Groups - Social Media Networking Groups (also known as social networking communities) such as ning, facebook, linked in, twitter, match up, etc) are great ways to network! Networking is truly a brilliant way for people to get to know your business, what you sell or offer, and get to know you one on one on the inside (where it really matters)! What a great way to make friends... and when your friends need something... who do you think they are going to come to? That's right... YOU! There are literally a trillion reasons why your business should have an online social media presence! A business owner can use networking to connect on a personal level with their viewers or clients and to show the personality behind their business! Please be sure to talk about your business and products without pushing what you offer onto your friends. If they want to buy... they will... but if they don't... then that's their choice. Friends are friends... and should be appreciated for who they are... not just what they can do for you. : ) Networking and communicating with your potential customers or clients will ultimately lead to sales but not immediately and not directly. Your online social networking presence is only a small component of your marketing strategy!

4.) Join Yahoo News Networking Groups - Yahoo News Networking Groups are a great way to get your important information out to a large group of people quickly and make long lasting friends. I have gained a ton of business and gained some absolutely amazing friends from networking groups! The members in these groups are always so welcoming and helpful! I would like to recommend:

Many networking groups do not require you to carry their link on your website so that makes this option as valuable choice.

5.) Product Reviews - Product reviews are a great way to get someone else's opinion about your products out there for lots of people to see. It's also a great way to get a one way link (which is like gold in google) in there as well! Product reviews often show off pictures of your product... and they tell their readers what they think of your product! I do product reviews for most of the small business I purchase from as a special thank you... when I either received outstanding customer service or exceptional products! There is no better advertising than word of mouth advertising... so get some product reviews going so that more people can see more of you and what you offer!

6.) Host Or Sponsor Contests or Giveaways - Hold a contest or giveaway yourself or sign up to sponsor as many contests and giveaways as you can! What better way to get a new product into the hands of someone who might tell everyone they won something... tried it... and loved it. Again... word of mouth advertising... nothing is better than that... and you might even get a new customer.

8.) Leave Blog Comments - Millions of people have blogs... and they love to hear what other's think about their latest blog post.... or a post that really catches your eye. It's natural to leave a comment on blog posts that you enjoy... so why not place your website or blog link under your signature... which incidentally is a one way link. You get to tell your blog friend was a great job she did on the post or how it relates to you and you also receive a one way link too. What a great idea.

9.) Pass Out Business Cards - Passing out a business card to someone you are talking to about your business is a very important promotional tool. If you go to dinner... leave a business card with the tip you leave behind for the server. Not only did they make a bit of money for your appreciation of them... you just might score a customer. Food for thought... : )

10.) Send Out Newsletters - Sending your customers a newsletter is a very important way to promote your business! Newsletters are a great business internet email marketing resource and a must-have for building your business! So many other successful businesses participate in email marketing campaign and you should too! Newsletters allow you to promote your business with style by providing useful information that your newsletter subscribers want, need, and appreciate! Newsletters are typically designed to match already existing websites. Not sure what a newsletter is... take a look at ours!

11.) Van or Car Business Decals - Using your van or car as an opportunity to advertise for you is such a great idea! I had someone about 2 months ago... see my business sign on my van and ask for a business card because her father was looking to create a website for his new business! You never know who might need your products or services so why not use your van or car as your own personal billboard! Once paid for it's free to advertise.

12.) Craft Shows, Flea Markets, School Bazaars, etc - There is truly no better way to get your finished product into the public's hand than craft shows! They come by your table... look and see what you have! They physically able to check out the quality and craftsmanship of your products personally which matters and if they like what they see.... they buy it! Alot of people like to see the product first before buying... so this is a great advantage. Once they purchase you can slip your business card in the bag as they take their new product home so that they can purchase from you online. Make sure you offer a discount coupon code on your business card so that you can thank your repeat buyers... with a 10% savings on their next order! FYI - If someone stays at your table for more than just a few seconds... it's a 95% chance they will buy something.

13.) Start A Blog - Starting a blog is such a great way to talk about your business products or services... contests... or discounts out to wear people will find you! Blogging is a great way to make friends, show your personality, and express your passions out there for everyone to see. I blog about just about everything. I try to keep my personal life out of my business blog as much as I can; however, I do let a little bit of personality come through. Blogger is free... where word press is not.... and I fully believe that blogger is easier to design and operate especially for a novice blogger.

14.) Write Articles - Writing articles about the things you know most about is a great way to get people's attention, make them see your value in what you offer, and it can also give someone a chance to get to know you from the inside out. Become a "in the know" kind of person... and share your knowledge!

15.) Buy Advertising Space - Purchasing advertising is a great way to promote your website and gain a one way link to your website all at the same time. There are thousands of work at home mom businesses that have high traffic sites that offer paid advertising to those who are looking to promote their sites. Take advantage of this affordable chance to get your website in the face of more people than you would without it.

16.) Join Online Directories - There are literally thousands of online directories on the net. Do a Google search and find some and add your business to as many as you can. Obviously, I can't recommend any... but free ones would be preferred.

17.) Press Releases - Write your own press release or ask a professional writer to create a press release for your business website so that you can tell a larger web wide audience about your website and products you offer. It's a great way to get traffic to your site.

18.) Become A Guest Blog Writer - There are very well established blogs that are always asking for guest writers. The blog owner has gotten so bogged down with work that they don't have time to write sometimes and publish their blog enough... so they ask those who have something to say to write for them. Signing your blog article with your business name and links to your website, blog, facebook, twitter, etc... is a great way to not only get people to your site.. but it allows you to give people a glimpse of your personality and it offers... you guessed it... a one way link!

19.) Respond To Yahoo Answers - Yahoo always has people asking tons of questions. Sometimes when I see a yahoo answers response in the search engine I will click on the profile of those who answered... and guess what... most of the time they have web addresses right there on their profile. It's a great way to get people to come to your website... depending on how you answer the yahoo question!

How To Get Noticed By The Search Engines

Are you a business website owner that has been struggling to get your website noticed by the search engines even though you have been doing everything you can think of to get their attention? Rest assured.... YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

All search engines have "spiders" that crawl over business web pages looking for keyword enriched website page content, good SEO, and clusters of businesses linked together. It is very important to get noticed by the "spiders" of the search engines because people can't buy from you if they do not know that you are out there waiting for them.

What you need to do first is make sure you have the correct keywords on your website pages so that your website is SEO (search engine optimization) friendly! (If you do not know what to do where SEO is concerned... you need to find a website developer & designer (like me) who is good at performing SEO (search engine optimization) on the websites they create.) When creating your website pages, make sure you follow the rules of the search engines. Be sure to keep your title, descriptions, and keyword meta tags in line with what search engines want to see because if you overload or place incorrect keywords in any of them... the search engine "spiders" will see you as a spammer and you will be docked in the ranking session and sometimes even banned... so be careful. (Please keep in mind when doing your own SEO that search engines only allow you to have so many characters in your meta tags... going over the limit can get your website docked in the search engine results.)

Getting your website up in the search engines for ALL of your web pages can be a tough thing to do in some cases. It depends solely on making sure that you have good web page content (wording that includes the particular key words you use in your meta title, description, and keywords) and correctly performed SEO. When a search for an item is done on the Internet.... the search engines compare the web page content with the SEO that has been done on your website...... doing a query of who's website fits the search request the best and that is when you see the search results in the search engines' web pages. Just because you have particular words placed on your website and included in your SEO doesn't guarantee that they will come up in the search engines when customers do a search for a particular product.

Having good SEO does not guarantee a placement in search engines. There is no guarantee where SEO is concerned because putting a guarantee on something like search engine optimization is impossible...... and anyone who guarantees results is a fraud. : ) Not every page is going to get up in the search engines & achieve traffic on it. It depends on the level or amount of searches a particular product has..... and it depends on how often that product is offered on the net as well..... Some of your pages might never be ranked high enough to get traffic to that particular website page. That is the reality of it all. It's important to remember that some phrases might be used more often then others and you can't just rely on the SEO to get up in the search engines. There are alot of businesses that purchase advertising (pay per click or through big time advertising firms as well) to get their websites in #1 slots every time.... on all search queries. : ) It's extremely expensive... and most people don't have that kind of money to be able to do that.

Once you have completed all of the pages of your website including SEO, you will need to update your search engine optimization (the text on your home page, your meta tags, and your search keywords) at least once a year. Webmasters that are good at what they do.... will expect this of you. I typically charge $75 a year for SEO updates/changes). Search engines notice and like it when you update your home page and meta tags on a regular basis. Be sure that you re-word the text on your home page so that the search engines will pick up on the changes you have worked so hard to make! You should also be sure to add some new keywords to the already existing keywords while you are at it! Keywords are important because that is what people actually type into a search engine to find your site and your products. No one can control what search engines do when it comes to ranking because they are so unpredictable. Be aware that sites that have the same content and meta tags don't do well in the search engines... so you will need to spend a few minutes updating your text on your home page & your meta tags!

I found this very interesting article on 8 Foods That Help Lower Blood Pressure! It looks like it could be useful in many different ways... so I thought I would post the article on my blog. When it comes to lowering your blood pressure, these 8 foods are among your best bets.

Skim Milk
It truly does a body good! Drinking heart-healthy skim milk or 1 percent milk will provide you with calcium and vitamin D — the two nutrients work as a team to help reduce blood pressure by 3 to 10 percent. Although this doesn’t sound like much, it could add up to about a 15 percent reduction in risk for cardiovascular disease.

Spinach
A green leafy delight, spinach is low in calories, high in fiber, and packed with heart-healthy nutrients like potassium, folate, and magnesium — key ingredients for lowering and maintaining blood pressure levels. An easy way to eat more of this great green? Try mixing fresh spinach leaves into salads or adding them to sandwiches.

Unsalted Sunflower Seeds
Sunflower seeds are also a great source of magnesium. A quarter cup of these makes a nutritious snack — but be sure to buy them unsalted, since salted sunflower seeds are high in sodium, which you want to avoid.

Beans
Nutritious and versatile, beans (including black, white, navy, lima, pinto, and kidney) are chock-full of soluble fiber, magnesium, and potassium, all excellent ingredients for lowering blood pressure and improving overall heart health. Add beans to your favorite salads, soups, or wraps; as a bonus, they’re pretty inexpensive.

Baked White Potato
Potatoes are rich in both magnesium and potassium, two vital nutrients for heart health. When potassium is low, the body retains extra sodium (and too much sodium raises blood pressure). On the other hand, when you eat a potassium-rich diet, the body becomes more efficient at getting rid of excess sodium. Like potassium, magnesium is also a key player in promoting healthy blood flow. Therefore, maintaining a healthy balance of both minerals can help keep high blood pressure at bay.

Bananas
This functional fruit is packed with potassium, so it’s a great choice for an on-the-go snack. Add a banana to your breakfast (my Strawberry-Banana Cottage Cheese With Almonds makes a great morning meal) or for an evening treat, slice a banana into several half-inch wheels, place them in a small plastic bag, and freeze. Frozen bananas — yum!

Soybeans
Soybeans are another excellent source of potassium and magnesium. Look for soybeans in the pod (edamame) in the freezer case at your grocery store; for a healthy snack, boil one cup and pop them directly out of the shell into your mouth. If you miss the salt, lightly sprinkle with salt substitute.

Dark Chocolate
Hooray for dark chocolate! Eating about 30 calories a day of dark chocolate — just one tiny square — was shown to help lower blood pressure after 18 weeks without weight gain or other adverse effects, according to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). Choose dark chocolate consisting of at least 70 percent cocoa powder. Because chocolate is also high in calories, you’ll want to be very careful not to overdo it.

Is it possible that a deliciously decadent treat is actually good for you?

Q: I can’t tell you how happy I was when I read that chocolate may help improve blood pressure. Is that true?

A: Yes, but with limitations. Scientists have discovered that the antioxidant flavonoids in chocolate can lower blood pressure, reduce inflammation, improve the elasticity of blood vessels, and may increase HDL (“good” cholesterol). Dark chocolate contains more than double the amount of flavonoids as milk chocolate, and —another strike against milk chocolate — the addition of milk may stop the intestines from absorbing the flavonoids. So if you’re going to eat chocolate, choose a variety that is at least 70 percent dark chocolate.

Of course, chocolate is also rich in calories and fat that will lead to weight gain if you overdo it, so make sure that you eat chocolate only in one-ounce snack-sized portions — and remember to account for the extra 150 calories in your daily calorie allotment.

Lilly Bella Bows - Custom Created Hair Bows & Clips

I have a FABULOUS FIND to tell all of you about today! As many of you know, my youngest daughter LOVES hair bows and clips! She especially loves the custom created bows! She has so many bows and clips that match her outfits... not so many that it fills her room... but she has ALOT!!

I was looking for custom created bows to match my daughter's uniforms she wears for school and that is when I saw one of K.C.'s (Lilly Bella Bows) adorable bows on her facebook page! The listing said that I could pick the colors I needed the bows created in and the middle could be monogrammed if I wanted it to be! WOW! I asked my daughter what she thought of the bows and if you could have seen her face... you would have thought she had just fallin in love! Literally! I immediately contacted K.C., owner of Lilly Bella Bows and got the ball rolling so that I could purchase the custom bows for my daughter in the colors she needed them in. What a FABULOUS FIND!

As many of you know, before I purchase something I always ALWAYS ask tons of questions! K.C. was so positive and patient with all of the questions and she even told me that she was going to throw in an extra clip (pink flower with monogrammed middle) for my daughter! I can not tell you how much I appreciated her offer... and how important it made me feel as her customer! What a super sweet, generous and thoughtful thing for her to do for a first time customer!

I was very specific in detail of what I wanted! I wanted a barrette so my daughter could wear a bow in her pony tail and a bow clip to hold her bangs back. After K.C. too so much time to answer all of my questions... I asked her to send me a paypal invoice.

My daughter and I are ABSOLUTELY thrilled with all of the bows that we received! The clips are made with quality craftsmanship, are VERY durable, and created with quality materials! It is obvious that ALOT OF LOVE went into creating these clips! I received OUTSTANDING cusotmer service from K.C., owner of Lilly Bella Bows and I can not tell you how much it means that K.C. put so many personal touches to our order! She is a handcrafter that really takes pride in what she offers and backs all that she creates! Thank you K.C. for giving my daughter beautiful bows to wear to school.... and for providing me quality and durable handcrafted bows for my little girl!

B & M Remodeling - Peoria IL - Kitchen Remodeling

As many of you know, I have been remodeling my kitchen. My kitchen was the original that came with the house and it was most definitely time to modernize!

The people who brought my dream kitchen to life was B & M Remodeling (Peoria, Illinois - 467-2284) and Coral Quitschau, Lowe's Cabinet Sales Specialist, (692-1900)!

B & M Remodeling (Peoria, Illinois - 467-2284): Bill, owner of B & M Remodeling, came to our house to measure our kitchen. We ordered the cabinets and waited patiently for them to be shipped to our house.

Once they arrived, Bill came to our house to inspect all of the cabinets and soon... I talked to Melissa (Bill's wife, co-owner of B & M Remodeling) who handles all of the scheduling for the business! She was so sweet... and she was very thoughtful! She understood my concerns of having to wait so long without a counter top and she did everything she could to make sure that everything was scheduled perfectly to where we didn't have to go without our kitchen any longer then necessary! We were scheduled for the rip out of our kitchen and installation of the new cabinets.

First came the rip out of the old cabinets. Bill and Mike came early in the morning and were friendly, so delightful and chipper! The rip out of the old cabinets... was ALOT of really hard work for the guys but they got it done. According to Bill, Melissa does the hardest part of the business and that's the scheduling. He told me that Melissa took so much off of his shoulders when she took that part of the business over and made it very clear how much he truly appreciates her and the role she plays behind the scenes to make sure the job runs smoothly! It's so nice to see a husband/wife team work together so seamlessly!

You can see by the pictures above what my old kitchen looked like before.. and what it looked like during the rip out! The rip out only took about 2 hours and it was alot of smashing! I was impressed that even though Bill and Mike were ripping my kitchen out... they took special care to keep my tiling under the cabinets.... COMPLETELY INTACT! I couldn't believe that they were able to keep the tiling unharmed! They took special care to not nick anything around the cabinets like the walls and ceiling too! They were wonderful! : )

As you can see from the finished product, Bill and Mike know their stuff! They really do! It was so amazing to see these guys work together. They are a real team! Bill and Mike are down to earth guys who are genuinely friendly and are always thinking about how best to please their clients! There were several times that Bill and Mike asked us exactly how we wanted something and it was always something we never even thought of.... but was sure to make our kitchen work space more convenient and comfortable. They were right on target too... because everything that they suggested... has been for the better! When the kitchen was done..... my husband and I stood there..... looking at it... totally in awe!

Coral Quitschau, Lowe's Cabinet Sales Specialist, (692-1900):
Coral was the person responsible for making our kitchen remodeling problem free! She did an excellent job keeping within my kitchen measurements and she even made it possible to obtain more storage in my kitchen! That's right... she made sure that everything I wanted in my kitchen actually fit... which took quite a bit of work! She was amazing! Talk about talent! I am so grateful that she did so much to make sure that our kitchen remodeling went as smoothly as it possibly could have went! By the way, I was informed by Bill and Mike that Coral is the BEST in her field!

If you are in Peoria, Illinois or the surrounding cities... and you are in the market for a new kitchen..... be sure to go to Lowe's and ask for Coral! I promise you..... you won't be disappointed. Then when you are done getting your dream kitchen put together like we did..... be sure to personally ask for Bill, owner of B & M Remodeling to do the install for you! I have heard of horrible horrible kitchen remodeling stories...... and I can say my kitchen remodel story is a happy one! It could not have gone smoother! Thank you Bill, Coral, Mike, and Melissa... for helping me make my dream kitchen a REALITY! I couldn't have done it without all of you! : ) I can not begin to thank you enough!

September 11, 2001 - Remember The Lost

September 11, 2001....... 9 years ago today... a horrific terrorist attack ascended on the US.

I remember watching the news... We all watched helplessly in horror as planes crashed into the twin towers! I remember the fire coming from the buildings... and I remember seeing the building collapsing and crumbling. I remember hearing the screams as some of the people who jumped from the tall buildings to escape the fire. I remember hearing reports that another plane crashed in Pennsylvania and that the hijackers were over thrown by the plane occupants. I still remember watching in disbelief... pure horror... all of it happening right before my eyes!

That day... a realization came over me.... that it only takes a split second to change the lives of our entire world.

So many of our loved ones died that day! Many years of sorrow has since past.... and still today we feel the pain and horror of what happened. Today I sit in memorial for those lost... and I pray for those who were left behind!

Since that fateful day... we have been at war! Our men and women have given so much to keep us safe.... and protect their homeland. We want to say thank you to all of the many men and women who so bravely & proudly have served our GREAT country! They not only risk their lives to protect our freedoms, but they also leave their families to do so! We are very proud of all the families who stand strong waiting for their loved ones to come home safe and sound to them! We are truly grateful to all of the veterans and those who are serving our country today!

May God Bless America, return our soldiers to us safely, & keep all of our loved ones safe!

Julie Gazdecki - Uppercase Living Window Decals

I made a promise to myself when this year began that I was going to get a business window decal created for my van so that I could physically advertise my web design and development business this summer!

I knew that Julie Gazdecki @ Uppercase Living could do business window decals so I went straight to her when I was ready! I asked a massive amount of questions and Julie answered all of my questions and even gave me answers to questions that I didn't even know I would need to know until I actually got started putting the decals on! She was so thorough in all of the answers she gave me and she was so patient with me!

Wow did she help me! Not only did she totally create the business window decals for me in the sizes I needed... but she also made sure that I ordered when a big sale was going on! Julie Gazdecki @ Uppercase Living ended up saving me a large amount of money! Yes, she is FANTASTIC at what she does! She is super easy to work with, very sweet, thoughtful too and the best part is that she REALLY KNOWS HER PRODUCTS! After I purchased the decals from Julie... she told me to email her when I got them and she would give me some tips to make putting them on easier! See what I mean.... she totally knows her stuff! ; )

When I received the business window decals in the mail... they were packed very well and they were beautifully done! I read the instructions and my husband and I set out to put the business window decals on! We measured like it said, we scraped the decals like it said to, we pulled the papers off..... and lined the decals up so that they would look even on the van.... and we were done! We did have some trouble with the sticky paper trying to connect itself to the window.... but other than that.... it was perfect! As you can tell from the picture... my van looks amazing with the new business window decals! I so LOVE them! : )

As a matter of fact, last night when we were picking up dinner, a lady in the drive through window asked if I did web design and I said yes. Apparently, her father is looking for a web designer to create a site for him because he just started his own business and she asked me for a business card! Would that sweet young lady have asked me if I did web design if I didn't have my decals? No... obviously not! I can just imagine how much business those business window decals are going to drum up for me!

The Gourmet Cupboard - Creamy Queso Soup

I have a truly FABULOUS FIND to tell you all about! I am no stranger to The Gourmet Cupboard. I am a loyal customer and that's why I wanted to talk about this company today. They have never let me down... and that's so important as a consumer especially in a world where all of the businesses are always cutting corners to save a buck and so often the quality of the products suffer! Not with this company! Even through the economic struggles The Gourmet Cupboard has kept to it's integrity and hasn't forsaken the product... just to save a buck! As a consumer... I can't tell you how much I appreciate and respect them for that!

Melissa, the owner & CEO of The Gourmet Cupboard (www.thegourmetcupboard.com) sent me a box of products to try and can you say YUM! This was such a super kind, thoughtful, sweet thing for Melissa to do.... a very PRICELESS gift! If you knew Melissa though... you would know this is exactly who she is! She is very sweet and very kind! I am very lucky to know her and the super sweet ladies she has working with her!

As a consumer... one of the great things about The Gourmet Cupboard is all of their products are super simple to make! The products never take a long time to make and they are absolutely delicious! I can't help it... it's all sooooo good! : )

One of the products in the box was their Creamy Queso Soup! My daughter (age 15) and I set out to make this soup for lunch last weekend! It calls for... water, margarine, chopped green chilies, sour cream, the mixture, and chicken or shrimp!

When we were done making the Creamy Queso Soup... we were floored! It. Was. Beyond. Delicious! As with all of their products... it was super easy to make! I followed all of the instructions except I didn't put the chopped green chilies in it! I chose to put chicken in it and instead of the green chilies... I added rice! This amazing soup made a hearty meal! The soup itself had such a smooth texture and it had a delightful cheesy taste with a little hint of mexican flavor! My entire family LOVED this soup! My boys were ooohhhing and ahhhing... and even my husband was asking for seconds! Of course my daughter and I loved it... we made it! ; )

The Creamy Queso Soup is our new Gourmet Cupboard Favorite! The Gourmet Cupboard offers high quality products! They also offer outstanding customer service! Anytime I have needed to contact them... they are always so friendly and so willing to help! This is a true quality company!!

For those who don't know... The Gourmet Cupboard is a gourmet food mix company! They have everything from Beverages, Breads & Muffins, Coffees, Savory Dips, Savory Dips, Side Dishes, Meals, and the list goes on!!!

Warning - Spokeo - The Latest Threat to Your Privacy

There's a privacy busting site called Spokeo and it's a violation of all of our private personal information!!! Spokeo is an online phone book that has your name, your spouses name, pictures that you have posted on facebook (whether your facebook account has beed made private or not), home phone number, physical address, credit score (for a fee), profession, home value, income , # of children, profession, age, etc. This is the LATEST THREAT TO YOUR PRIVACY! Spokeo even provides a Google Earth view of where you live! Spokeo often gets erroneous results as it often shows incorrect information and has even been known to show completely unrelated people with the same last name living at the same address.

The good news is that you can have your information removed from Spokeo (FYI - it does not have a remove me button). This is going to take a little bit of effort on your part. Go to http://www.spokeo.com/ and do a quick search for your name. You will either be in their system or you won't. If you are in their system, you need to remove yourself. Once you have located your listing, you will need to copy the page URL that is in the browser's address bar. Look at the bottom of the page for the "Privacy" link and click on it. A new window (or tab) will open with an online form for you to fill out. Paste the URL and your email address into the appropriate fields. A removal confirmation email will be sent to your email address where there will be a link for you to click to confirm that you are who you say you are and that you want your information removed from the Spokeo website. If you don't see the email, check your spam folder for it. If you never get the email try this link http://www.spokeo.com/public/feedback and submit a request thru their contact form.

Please remember.... always be careful what you post in your Social Networking profiles (such as facebook) and always avoid giving personal information such as birth date, middle name, address, etc. Protect yourself because no one else is going to do it for you! Warning - Complaints Against Stamps.com

Here is a real account security issue that should get every one's attention. Please pay particular attention to this information... as it is VERY IMPORTANT!

Customers of Stamps.com have had numerous incidents where unauthorized charges are being taken out of people's accounts that have never purchased goods or even used the free trial service from STAMPS.COM! Super Scary!

Before deciding to go with any company... you should do your research! Always put the company name in a search engine and put bad behind it and if the company has skeletons in their closet... you will find out about them! If nothing comes up that is questionable... then they are most likely on the up and up! Before going with anyone... you should always ALWAYS perform this test! Period!

In one of the groups that I belong to, there was an announcement about Adobe Reader having a security issue that needed everyone's attention. Please pay particular attention to this information... as it is VERY IMPORTANT!

Here is the announcement that was posted to one of the groups I belong to: There is a security risk to everyone who has not updated their Adobe Reader on their computers. I urge everyone to update immediately at this link: http://get.adobe.com/reader !

It's free. All computers come with Adobe Reader, but not all use it so they think they are okay to not follow through with update. So take a minute to keep yourself protected and update it.

Hackers can access your computer and anywhere that you login to if you do not
have a version higher than 7 or 8. Version 9 is already out.

Computerworld - Exploits of Adobe Systems Inc.'s PDF file format jumped dramatically last year and are continuing to climb during 2010, a McAfee Inc. security researcher said Wednesday.

Microsoft Corp., meanwhile, recently said that more than 46% of the browser-based exploits during the second half of 2009 were aimed at vulnerabilities in the free Adobe Reader PDF viewer.

According to Toralv Dirro, a security strategist at McAfee Labs, the percentage of exploitative malware targeting PDF vulnerabilities has skyrocketed. In 2007 and 2008, only 2% of all malware that included a vulnerability exploit leveraged an Adobe Reader or Acrobat bug. That figure jumped to 17% in 2009 and to 28% during the first quarter of 2010.

"In the last three years, attackers have found PDF vulnerabilities more and more useful, for a couple of reasons," Dirro said. "First of all, it's increasingly difficult for them to find new vulnerabilities with the operating system and within browsers that they can exploit across the different versions of Windows. Warning - Has Your Email Been Hacked Or Spoofed

Many people suffer from getting spam in their email inboxs regularly especially businesses and the elderly. Many times the elderly are so far away from the computerized world that they don't know what to do or where to go to protect themselves from the trojans, viruses, and spam that comes through their email's inbox. Many times new business owners that have websites on the net... don't know what to do with the magnitude of spam that comes their way either.

Many people think their email has been hacked when suspicious or virus infected emails go to people in their address book... but have they really been hacked? In most cases, the email accounts were not actually hacked, they were spoofed. Email account spoffing is much more common than email hacking. While we all HATE spam... the reality of it is that there are many ways that spam gets passed around and we should educate ourselves in all the ways spamming can happen so that we can be prepared.

If you are getting alot of spam... the first thing you need to do is get a good antivirus. One that handles viruses, malware, and adware. Bit Defender is my top choice. It's protected me from many trojans and viruses. It completely blocks them and won't even allow the email to come through my inbox. If you use a website domain email (such as info@yourdomainname.com) make sure your hosting company offers you protection with an Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) system. Be prepared. Now let's move on and look at a few of the ways ill-intentioned users are taking advantage of today's electronic world!

I looked up email spoofing and this is what wikipedia has to say:
E-mail spoofing is a term used to describe (usually fraudulent) e-mail activity in which the sender address and other parts of the e-mail header are altered to appear as though the e-mail originated from a different source. E-mail spoofing is a technique commonly used for spam e-mail and phishing to hide the origin of an e-mail message. By changing certain properties of the e-mail, such as the From, Return-Path and Reply-To fields (which can be found in the message header), ill-intentioned users can make the e-mail appear to be from someone other than the actual sender. The result is that, although the e-mail appears to come from the address indicated in the From field (found in the e-mail headers), it actually comes from another source.

Occasionally (especially if the spam requires a reply from the recipient, such as the '419' scams), the source of the spam e-mail is indicated in the Reply-To field (or at least a way of identifying the spammer); if this is the case and the initial e-mail is replied to, the delivery will be sent to the address specified in the Reply-To field, which could be the spammer's address. However, most spam emails (especially malicious ones with a trojan/virus payload, or those advertising a web site) forge this address too, and replying to it will annoy an innocent third party.

Prior to the advent of unsolicited commercial email as a viable business model, "legitimately spoofed" email was common. For example, a visiting user might use the local organization's smtp server to send email from the user's foreign address. Since most servers were configured as open relays, this was a common practice. As spam email became an annoying problem, most of these "legitimate" uses fell victim to antispam techniques.

Methods:
Because many spammers now use special software to create random sender addresses, even if the user finds the origin of the e-mail it is unlikely that the e-mail address will be active. The technique is now used constantly by mass-mailing worms as a means of concealing the origin of the propagation. On infection, worms such as ILOVEYOU, Klez and Sober will often try to perform searches for e-mail addresses within the address book of a mail client, and use those addresses in the From field of e-mails that they send, so that these e-mails appear to have been sent by the third party.

For example:
Alice is sent an infected e-mail and then the e-mail is opened, triggering propagation.
The worm finds the addresses of Bob and Charlie within Alice's address book
From Alice's computer, the worm sends an infected e-mail to Bob, but the e-mail appears to have been sent by Charlie.

This can be particularly problematic in a corporate setting, where e-mail is sent to organisations with content filtering gateways in place. These gateways are often configured with default rules that send reply notices for messages that get blocked, so the example is often followed by:

Bob doesn't receive the message, but instead gets a message telling him that a virus sent to him has been blocked. Charlie receives a message telling him that a virus sent by him has been blocked. This creates confusion for both Bob and Charlie, while Alice remains unaware of the actual infection.

Newer variants of these worms have built on this technique by randomising all or part of the e-mail address. A worm can employ various methods to achieve this, including: random letter generation, built-in wordlists, blending or compositing addresses found in address books.

She asked Irving Berlin if he could give her a song that would reignite the spirit of American patriotism and faith. He said he had a song that he had written in 1917, but never used it. He said she could have it. She sat at the piano & played it and realized how good it was. She called Mr.Berlin and told him that she couldn't take this from him for nothing. So, they agreed that any money that would be made off the song would be donated to the Boy Scouts of America . I totally found a truly FABULOUS find while shopping with Jacqueline @ First Impression Favors!

Jacqueline has so many FABULOUS & amazing favor products to pick from... She has everything from decorated boxes to anniversary favors to birthday favors to crystal key chains to cake toppers & jewelry... oh and the list goes on!! I don't think there isn't anything you can't buy in her store! I am serious! I really had a great time checking everything out...! While browsing Jacqueline's website... I kept thinking to myself... that I would love to buy ALL of the birthday favors because they were all terrific!

I had a hard time picking... until I spotted the cupcake designed lip gloss favors and I instantly feel in love! My daughter has a total facination with lip gloss and so do her friends... so I knew this would be the perfect birthday party favor for all of the girls!

My Little Rembrandt ~ Custom Trendy Children's T-shirts

Once again... I am proud to announce that I had another wonderful shopping experience with Lisa @ My Little Rembrandt!

I was looking over Lisa's website for some really cute shirts for my 8 year old daughter and I found the most adorable Custom Trendy Children's T-shirts that I had ever seen! Lisa has so many adorable shirts to choose from... so I imagine you understand that I had a really hard time trying to pick which shirt I wanted for my daughter! Well... at least I was able to narrow the choices down to only 3! That was good for me!

I was not entirely sure what size I should order my daughter as she's growing up and older children have many different sizes... so I emailed Lisa to ask. Soon after I emailed her, Lisa responded. Lisa very patiently helped me decide what sizes would work best. I ordered the shirts that I wanted for my daughter and in no time they arrived and let me tell you... my daughter and I both were thrilled with the quality of Lisa's clothing products!! The decals on the shirts were beautifully colorful and has kept their true color even after washing them several times. I also have to mention that Lisa's clothing products are all pre-shrunk so that they don't shrink after washing! I was even more impressed when I realized that the shirts didn't shrink!

Thank you Lisa for working so hard to get the shirts created and sent out as quickly as you did! I am ALWAYS thrilled with your talents & outstanding customer service... that's why I keep coming back! I can not tell you how appreciative the quality of product you offer! I found a totally FABULOUS find!
I had a great time while shopping with Nathalie @ Recupe Fashion! Nathalie has so many products that I had such a great time just browsing her selection of products.... Nathalie has eye pillows, beanie bears, crocheted bath items, recycled jewelry, etc. I am serious! I really had a great time checking everything out... but what really hit me and got my attention was her tea wallets!

When I saw her tea wallets... I immediately thought about my Mom in law and how great a tea wallet would be for her! Please let me explain... my Mom in law, who is VERY special to me is an avid hot tea drinker!

She loves to have hot tea with dinner and at the end of the day... with dessert.... you name it... hot tea is her choice of beverage! So I purchased the tea wallet and gave it to my Mom in law and she absolutely adores it! She agreed with me that the tea wallet was a very inventive idea....

I can not tell you how impressed I am with the whole shopping experience! Her products are quality grade products... her customer service is outstanding... and the craftsmanship of the tea wallet was outstanding. True quality! It's obvious that Nathalie puts her heart and soul into everything she makes.... because it shows in the product! Nathalie's products are always high quality... very inventive... and true quality craftsmanship!

I would have never thought that a tea wallet even existed let alone that it could be given to someone special as a gift... until I met Nathalie! Nathalie provided me the ability to purchase a truly USEFUL gift for my Mom in law... something she could use over and over again... and enjoy using! I can not tell you how much I appreciate it. : )

Warning - Watch Out For IntoStores.com

If you ever get a call or an email from a company called InToStores.com...RUN! That's right... RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AND STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THEM AS YOU CAN!!! A bunch of heart ache and a bunch of promises is all you will receive from working with this company! There have been many accounts of legitimate businesses dealing with this company hoping that they would help them move their products and they literally got burned. All kinds of promises or guarantees are made... just to draw you into their scheme so that they can rob you blind of your hard earned money! They promise everything under the sun but never deliver! So BEWARE!

What really upsets me about all these companies that scam people... is that they play people.... business owners.... like fools! All small businesses... especially the inexperienced and just starting out small businesses... want to sell their products! Some are truly willing to do anything just to bring in extra income into the household for their families! Otherwise skeptical... logical... and level headed people could very well fall prey to this company's lies! That is what makes me so sad.... because legitimate businesses are being taken advantage of... and their families really need that extra income! Any and all WAHMs (Work At Home Moms) need the extra income to help their families. If they didn't need it... they wouldn't be online trying to sell the products they create!

This is how it works...

InToStores.com will contact you either by email or phone... and they offer to sell your products for you for a big lump sum to start with... you also have to pay a monthly payment amount as well. They then promise you the world. They promise that their company is connected with very important people and that customers purchase from them all the time, etc etc. They make you dream big of what your business could be if only more people could or would purchase your products from you and guarantee you that your products will literally fly off their shelves.

You then pay to join... and then you begin to post your products.... then you wait. You wait but you will not sell anything! Nothing will happen even though you are sending them monthly payments to sell your products for you! You wait for nothing... because nothing happens! You get scammed instead. InToStores.com will take your big lump sum... and your monthly payments and you will get nothing in return except empty promises and your dreams and hopes crushed!

I did further investigation and found out that WiseRep.com is the same as InToStores.com! Isn't that something? It looks to me like the old scammer (WiseRep.com) changed it's name to InToStores.com in order to keep there activities from being detected. Do your research before handing any money over to anyone!

Lesson to learn...? If someone contacts you about wanting to showcase and sell your products for you for a fee and makes higher than life promises and guarantees... I encourage you to DO YOUR RESEARCH! Check out the site online that someone is contacting you about. Look for a happy customers, testimonials, or happy client's page to see if they have a happy following! Look for a portfolio... See if they offer links to the sites they have worked with in the past... and contact some of their clients to see what they have to say about their experience with the company. Ask about them in a discussion group (if you belong to one) to see if they know anything about the company offering you the moon and stars!

Please don't take a company's word for it. Before investing alot of money... before believing... do the research to keep your hard earned income where it belongs.... with you! Please remember... words don't mean anything if the company does not keep their promises! I have found that actions always speak louder then words ever will... and that actions is something you can truly count on! I encourage anyone who gets an email from someone they don't know... to do their research.

What You Need To Know About Starting An Online Business

Do you have a unique product? Do you want to make lots of money with your unique product? Of course you do!

Many people who have created a unique innovative product often start up an online business so that they can make money off of their talents & new unique product... but it takes so much more then just talent and a new product to make an online business succeed!

When it comes to starting your own online home business... there's alot that you need to learn and know. You need to know where to go for a website, you need to know what organic SEO (search engine optimization) is and why it's important, you will need to understand link exchanges & link popularity is and realize why they are so important, you will need to learn how to promote or market your site after your site is open for business, and the list goes on.

Important things you need to do before starting an online home based business…

1: Decide what niche or unique product you want to offer.

2: Create the product and decide what it will cost and if it is cost effective.

3: Create a lot of products and take professional pictures of them.

4: Decide if you are going to go with a webmaster or a do it yourself site builder.

5: Make sure you perform SEO on your site or find a specialist to handle that for you.

6: Be patient…. it’s going to take at least a year for your business to take off.

7: Advertise, promote, & reinvest into your business.

If you are not sure what to do, then you need to find an experienced professional webmaster (web designer & developer) that is well versed on the web... who is willing to teach you the ropes of having an online business... and make it a point to learn everything you can from them. That is one of the conveniences of having a webmaster who can design and create a website for you. They can teach you the entire way!

There are a lot of people who jump into starting a business without knowing all of the things I mentioned above... and often... they end up feeling confused... unsure about what to do... defeated... disenchanted... discouraged... and frustrated... just like I did when I first started my business long ago. I didn't know all of these finer points either and I most definitely did not know how to get an online business up and running!!

I didn't have anywhere to turn to for help and I really struggled and fumbled to find my way... so I've put together a summary of what the first steps are to starting your online business... in hopes that I will be able to help someone new at owning their own online home business and all that comes with it!

My biggest challenge when starting my business was trying to get traffic to my website. My website design was done, products were added, prices were set.... my website opened for business.... and no one came. I was like the millions of small business owners who thought that if I opened my store... people would automatically come..... and that Google would just automatically know that I was ready for business and that is just not the case. It takes time to gather a customer base and it takes time to be ranked in the search engines. Please know.... when you start a business..... it can take up to a year before your business truly takes off... and remember a new business is like a baby. You wouldn't expect a new baby to take off running would you? Once I figured that out...... I was ahead of the game. I celebrated each small step my business took and in time..... it's grown into a huge success!

When opening an online business website there are many things to think about...

UNIQUE PRODUCT LINE:
To start a business you must have a unique product line! That is a must. If you try to just create something and think it will sell... please think again! Products are moved off of shelves by product demand. If you sell the same things everyone else sells... there won't be much demand for it because the consumer can get the product anywhere.

ONLINE WEBSITE STORE:
In order to sell your products online... you will need a website. It can't be just any old website though. It has to be search engine friendly. That means the category menu along with the layout and structure of the website needs to be specifically created to pass all of the search engines criteria & regulations! That's right... there are regulations and those who create websites themselves often have no idea what the search engines require! You will need to find the right webmaster for you that knows SEO well, a webmaster who will be able to create the website the way you want it to look... with all of the things you want to offer... and create it to be search engine friendly as well . There is a huge difference between having a website created for you and do it yourself site builders! Do it yourself site builders or free websites (which look TOTALLY unprofessional and cheap)... only take you 1/2 way folks... so if you don't know anything about search engines, SEO, or how to stay on top of the requirements... you are doing yourself a disservice just to save money doing it yourself.

WEBSITE DESIGN IMPORTANCE:
When designing a website whether you are doing it yourself or hiring someone to do it for you.... pay close attention to your website's customer friendliness.

#1: You need to pick safe colors - colors that are not loud, wild, or brash. Brash or wild colors can make viewing your site very difficult. Pick colors that are easy on the eyes. Pick colors that you love... so that your customers can get a feel of your presence on the website.

#2: Please make sure your navigational links are easy to work. Have your menu on every page of your site not... just the home page. If a customer has to click back constantly to navigate a website.... they are clicking too many times. Customers don't like to click more then necessary just to get to the page they want. A beautiful design is awesome, but if a customer can’t navigate properly around your site, your customer will get discouraged and leave…. which means no sale!

THE DO's & DON'Ts OF OWNING YOUR OWN BUSINESS:

Do’s:
1: Purchase your own domain name and hosting. PERIOD!

2: Find a designer/developer that knows SEO.

3: Follow the promotional marketing tips I list on my article, "Top 20 Ways To Promote Your Website".

4: Choose a domain name with your niche (unique product keywords) in it.

5: Download the google tool bar so that you can see your back links (people who link to you).

6: Make sure you have enriched keyword content on your web pages.

Don’ts:
1: Never buy combo packages where you can have a domain name, hosting, and a website. If someone else buys your domain name they own it, you don’t…. so that means that you can’t just take your website and leave whenever you want to. If you make a domain name popular that you don’t own… the person who purchased it for you… may refuse to release it to you. Please remember that the time you took to build a customer base on the domain you don’t own… will be lost and will belong to the owner…. not you.

2: Don’t purchase advertising from ad farms which are sites with only ads on them. All websites need contest to get in search engines and without content... it's difficult to get in the search engines. If the link farms can't get in the search engines... there's no point in paying them for advertising because that is a waste of good hard earned money. Look for websites, blogs, top 100s, etc that have a good amount of traffic to purchase prime advertising space from.

3: Don’t respond to offers to link swap with 3rd party link farms. Basically you will get offers to do link exchanges with sites on the net. You click the link and it is either a link website with nothing else or it will take you to a website that doesn’t even have a links page on the site… What will happen… is they will put your link on a 3rd party website… but you will directly link to them. That is their way of stealing one day links from you. Don’t be fooled.

PLACE YOUR KEYWORDS IN YOUR DOMAIN NAME:
It is very important to include your niche or product keywords in your domain name when you are picking one out and purchasing it. The keywords for your niche being placed in your domain name... is another form of help where SEO is concerned so that Google and the other search engines have a clue about what your website is about or what kind of products you sell. Also when you purchase a domain and work really hard to make it popular... it's important to purchase all of the domains listed like yours.

Example: My domain is mycolorfultreasureswebdesign.com... and because my domain name has become quite popular... I have taken the time (and reinvested my money) to secure and protect my business name & property by purchasing and owning the other extensions of my popular domain name... (mycolorfultreasureswebdesign.net, mycolorfultreasureswebdesign.info, mycolorfultreasureswebdesign.biz, and mycolorfultreasureswebdesign.org). If you don't want someone to take the net, info, biz, or org... of your .com domain name... make sure you purchase all of the domains so no one else can use them. I have privacy or "WhoIs" on all of my domain names as well because it offers extra added security and safety for my family and I.

CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Customers who are purchasing your innovative products... are vital to a successful online business or store! If you do not offer good customer service or someone working for you does not offer good customer service... your store will not see success! In an online business... your reputation is all you have... so bad press is something you want to prevent as much as possible! An unhappy customer can tell many people how unhappy they are... and if they tell the right people... your store will ultimately suffer the consequences! No matter how good your unique product is... it will not live a long and productive life if you are not careful to ALWAYS provide outstanding customer service!

RE-INVEST BACK INTO YOUR BUSINESS:
When you have a business... a portion of your profits that comes from the sale of your products... must go back into the re-investing into your business. Re-investing is required to keep your business going. Money is needed to keep your website up to code where the search engines are concerned and to keep your product line going. Let's face it... without a product line... you will have nothing to sell... so you have no choice but to re-invest.

SEO OR SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION:
When having a website it is very important to understand that search engines require search engine optimization or SEO to be performed on your website. Search engine optimization is crucial for the success of your online business! Without SEO... your website will not rank in the search engines and without ranking in the search engines no one is going to know that you are open for business. If no one knows about your business... your business will be dead in the water. Search engine optimization should be tweaked at least once a year if not more... depending on new products being added to your website or depending on changes in the search engines. If you do not know how to perform SEO for yourself, you should either choose to have a website created for you by someone who knows SEO well... or you should hire someone to perform SEO on your website for you.

LINK BUILDING & CREATING LINK POPULARITY:
Search engines require website owners to have link exchanges on their websites. Search engines use this as a way to be sure that websites are on the up and up. Link exchanges or creating link popularity for your website is crucial in getting ranked well in the search engines. Without link exchanges your website will not rank well in the search engines and you will be out in the online business world alone... with no traffic to your website.

One way links are good too. A lot of people purchase advertising... and it offers a one way link. So if you have space on your website, blog, top 100, etc. offer paid advertising to people... because those who can't do link exchanges because they have corporate owned sites, etsy shops, etc. need your help in being seen by the search engines. It's a win win situation. You get money from those who want the advertising space & those who need advertising space and are willing to pay for it... get recognition from the search engines.

MARKETING YOUR WEBSITE:
Once your online business is up and running... you need to market your website! There are TONS of ways to market your online business! There are costly ways to market your online website & there are also common sense ways to gain FREE or low cost advertising as well! Follow the promotional marketing tips I list on my article, "Top 20 Ways To Promote Your Website". All of the promotional marketing tools I list in my article have worked beautifully for me.

Having a business in general can be time consuming and financially rewarding & draining at the same time... but it's worth it in the end. With all of these very important factors combined... the world of online business... is your oyster! Success is out there waiting for anyone who wants it so much that they are willing to really work hard at achieving it!

My Little Rembrandt ~ Custom Photo Collage

I had a wonderful experience while working with Lisa @ My Little Rembrandt on a custom photo collage project!

I had never ordered a custom photo collage before so I had no idea what to do... and I had alot of questions... but Lisa walked me through every step and was so patient with me! Lisa is so easy to work with! She's friendly, thoughtful, and sweet... and she answered every one of my questions quickly and patiently!

It was so hard to pick what pictures I wanted for the custom photo collage! I thought about a wedding photo collage with several of my favorite wedding pictures. Then I toyed with the idea of doing a collage of all of my favorite pictures of my husband and me together in a valentine's theme. Then I thought about doing a collage of my 5 year old's latest birthday... but I just couldn't decide! That is when I saw the very outdated photo of our 5 kids on our bookshelf... so I decided that I was going to ask Lisa to do a family photo collage for me of our sweet babies!

The first proof Lisa provided me was done in a really cute green, dark tan, & white color scheme... but I wanted burgundy, light tan, & white so that it would match our living room.

I have to say, Lisa's listening skills are impeccable! She thrilled me with her next proof with the colors I wanted! I couldn't believe it, no further revisions were necessary because she nailed the exact colors I wanted! My Family Photo Collage was PERFECT! Lisa ROCKS!

Lisa mailed my family photo collage quickly. She carefully packaged my collage by placing cardboard in the envelope to prevent it from getting bent and then wrote "please do not bend" on the front and back of the envelope. I opened up the packaging and was elated with the SUPERB quality of the photo collage!! The print quality of the pictures were clear and sharp! The photo collage had a beautiful gloss look to it! Lisa provides her customers with "true photo" quality!

Bama Gourmet ~ Gourmet Dips

We recently ordered some Gourmet Cupboard dips from Kim @ Bama Gourmet! The dips are super easy to make! They come in ready to go packets & you simply pour the mixture in, add the ingredients it requires, & stir! That's it!

We tried all of the dips & found that our favorite dips are the bacon flavored dip & the baked potato dip!

You can make the gourmet cupboard bacon flavored dip two ways... either as a dip or as a cheese ball! It was wonderful!

The gourmet cupboard baked potato dip was super good too. It was just as easy to make. All I had to do is pour the package contents in a bowl and mix with sour cream, refrigerate for a little while, and it was ready to serve!

I am a VERY busy lady and I don't have alot of time to spend in the kitchen... so image how excited and happy I was when I made these two DELICIOUS dips in less than 10 minutes! What a clever way of helping a busy mom out!

When I served these dips, everyone raved about how good they were... & literally insisted on knowing where I got them & where they could get some!

I was quite thrilled with Kim's outstanding customer service! She was easy to work with, she sent my package quickly, and she emailed me a delivery confirmation number for my package, which I greatly appreciated!!

Warning - Watch Out For Dotless Domain

If you ever get a call from a company called Dotless Domain, HANG UP THE PHONE...

A man by the name of Dan Oliver had quite a sad and very frustrating experience with Dotless Domain.com and he put his encounter in words. Here is a small blurb of his horrible encounter...

Dan writes, "I received a call from these people stating that they have a unique way of getting more traffic to my website. What they have is a tool bar which people download that will allow their customers web pages to pop up on the top half of a browser above what ever search engine a person uses. I first received a message on my answering machine from a John stating that he wanted to talk to me about a business opportunity that I had. When we finally hooked up he started to explain how they would guarantee that the advertising would get me over 10,000 impressions to my web site in a six month period and if they did not get the 10,000 impressions that I would get another six months free. He tried to talk me into purchasing 3 keyword phrases which he thought pertained to my website. The hefty price tag on the 3 key phrases was a whopping $2985(discounted price). I was shown a live demo of how the web menu worked and I must admit that it did seem impressive.

Warning - Watch Out For LeapFish

Before you agree to work with anyone..... please be sure to fully research a company because they could have scandals in their pasts that you might not know about and you could get taken advantage of!

I say this because recently I was checking out LeapFish for a client of mine and I came across some information that everyone should know. I was able to pull this information about LeapFish off Wikipedia.org. It looks to me like LeapFish is something to be careful with as there has been scandal with a rep or reps have clicked on people's search results only to bring money into LeapFish. It's something that you should really look into before you invest into it. Please read (see below) what Wikipedia showed as results on LeapFish.....

LeapFish is a search aggregator that retrieves results from other portals and search engines, including Google, Yahoo, Live Search, Blogs, Videos etc.... It is a registered trademark of Dotnext Inc.

Leapfish is a type of metasearch site known as a search aggregator. Search aggregators compile and list the results taken from other search engines, in addition to providing their own content (generally in the form of advertising or result positioning based on internal algorithms. In the case of LeapFish, the top results of any given search can be advertisements, where an individual or company can pay a registration fee to LeapFish to be positioned at the top of the result list in response to certain keyword searches.

Controversy

The new leapfish.com has had a mixed reception from users of sitepoint forums, from bloggers and other regular web users.

On February 3rd, 2009 the online blog TechCrunch posted evidence of LeapFish sales representatives intentionally abusing the Google's pay-per-click model against potential customers... The CEO of LeapFish's parent company, DotNext, confirmed the sales representative's actions, but announced that the representative was no longer employed by the company.

The company has also been accused of astroturfing and spamming.

As opposed to other Search Engines, such as Google or Yahoo which appear to favour web based sales, Leapfish keywords are largely sold via hardsell telemarketing operation which has not been without friction with the online community. The telemarketing team consists of 80 sales persons.

Warning - In Text Advertising Is Super Annoying

A client of mine, asked me about In-Text advertising and I thought I would post about this subject since it is one that many may not know about.

An In-Text advertising company offers this service to those who want to utalize this type of advertising and make money everytime someone clicks on the "in text advertising".

While everyone wants to make money from their website or blog... in reality you should stay away from this kind of advertising because In-Text advertising is one of the most intrusive forms of advertising and it also goes against the principles of web usability. It's truly the most annoying form of advertising created. In my opinion these text link ads take away from your content and really discourage readers. Many people unsubscribe from websites and blogs that use this form of monetization.

In-Text advertising inserts text link advertisements (networks like Info Links, Vibrant Media or Kontera) within the content of your website or blog, usually in the form of double-underline hyperlinks. The double underline is supposed to show the difference between them and normal links. The links are placed inside your text (see why they call it in text advertising). Upon a hover of the mouse, a floating informational bubble opens with content from an advertiser. If clicked, the visitor is directed to the advertiser’s landing page and you earn advertising revenue; otherwise, when the mouse is moved away from the hyperlink, the bubble disappears. In text advertising works on a cost per click (CPC) model, which means that each time a website visitor clicks on an In-Text ad, the websites owner gets paid by the advertiser.

The hyperlink navigation structure is one of the most basic and most important features of the Internet. You should think twice before messing with it. The fact that virtually no mainstream website is using this advertising approach is NO SURPRISE! Sure... every small business or blogger would love to generate some extra money, but are you willing to put your credibility and reputation on the line for it?

What's Grouply & How To Get Rid Of It

I have had alot of people ask me about Grouply... so I thought I would post about it and give those who don't know... this very valuable information!

Grouply is very bad! It's horrible! When you join... it requires you to hand over your email log in and password information and once you do, grouply literally blocks your ability to email and it sends spam to all the people in your contact list from your email account. Your contacts will think you sent the spam... when the only thing you did was join grouply! If you are a member or have been a member of grouply in the past and you just don't know how to get rid of it... this message is for you!

Very important information that everyone should know about Grouply...

First, when a member joins, it automatically changes their primary email address for the groups, giving them a @grouply.com extension. This is being done unaware to those who are joining.

Secondly, members who join the grouply website are having to give their member ID and password. This opens up a security issue for those members.

Thirdly, once a member joins grouply, it opens access to the files and posts of each group to the grouply website. Grouply staff can then access these files. If they get hacked, then it opens the doors to the groups getting hacked as well. It has also been reported that it's generating a lot of spam already.

How do you fix it?

For those who did join Grouply, every single group you've joined with your Yahoo ID is now at risk. The only solution, since Yahoo IDs themselves cannot be deleted, is to unsubscribe from ALL your groups immediately, then create a brand new ID and resubscribe to your groups with that new ID. Your old ID is permanently contaminated. You cannot rejoin any group with your contaminated regular Yahoo ID. You must get a new ID. You can change your email, but that has nothing to do with your Yahoo ID. Once you have joined grouply, the only fix is to quit all your groups and establish a completely new ID and password.

If you have joined grouply in the past, simply change your yahoo i.d., change your password, rejoin your groups and it should take care of the problem!

Warning - Internet WAH Fraud - Protect Yourself

While the vast majority of online transactions are completed without complication, fraudulent activity can occur.

An honest work at home Mom or Dad can feel a real loss when they are fooled by a scam! Don't let it happen to you!

The Top 10 Home-Based Business/Work-At-Home Scams

Note: These scams are not ranked by dollars lost or people scammed. In fact, there's nothing scientific about the list. It's just the ten home-based business scams we find the most disturbing.

10. Craft Assembly

This scam encourages you to assemble toys, dolls, or other craft projects at home with the promise of high per-piece rates. All you have to do is pay a fee up-front for the starter kit... which includes instructions and parts.

Sounds good? Well, once you finish assembling your first batch of crafts, you'll be told by the company that they "don't meet our specifications."

In fact, even if you were a robot and did it perfectly, it would be impossible for you to meet their specifications. The scammer company is making money selling the starter kits -- not selling the assembled product. So, you're left with a set of assembled crafts... and no one to sell them to.

9. Medical Billing

In this scam, you pay $300-$900 for everything (supposedly) you need to start your own medical billing service at home. You're promised state-of-the-art medical billing software, as well as a list of potential clients in your area.

What you're not told is that most medical clinics process their own bills, or outsource the processing to firms, not individuals. Your software may not meet their specifications, and often the lists of "potential clients" are outdated or just plain wrong.

As usual, trying to get a refund from the medical billing company is like trying to get blood from a stone.

8. Email Processing

This is a twist on the classic "envelope stuffing scam" (see #1 below). For a low price ($50?) you can become a "highly-paid" email processor working "from the comfort of your own home."

Now... what do you suppose an email processor does? If you have visions of forwarding or editing emails, forget it. What you get for your money are instructions on spamming the same ad you responded to in newsgroups and Web forums!

Think about it -- they offer to pay you $25 per email processed -- would any legitimate company pay that?

7. "A List of Companies Looking for Homeworkers!"

In this one, you pay a small fee for a list of companies looking for homeworkers just like you.

The only problem is that the list is usually a generic list of companies, companies that don't take homeworkers, or companies that may have accepted homeworkers long, long ago. Don't expect to get your money back with this one.

6. "Just Call This 1-900 Number For More Information..."

No need to spend too much time (or money) on this one. 1-900 numbers cost money to call, and that's how the scammers make their profit.

Save your money -- don't call a 1-900 number for more information about a supposed work-at-home job.

5. Typing At Home

If you use the Internet a lot, then odds are that you're probably a good typist. How better to capitalize on it than making money by typing at home?

Here's how it works: After sending the fee to the scammer for "more information," you receive a disk and printed information that tells you to place home typist ads and sell copies of the disk to the suckers who reply to you. Like #8, this scam tries to turn you into a scammer!

4. "Turn Your Computer Into a Money-Making Machine!"

Well, this one's at least half-true. To be completely true, it should read: "Turn your computer into a money-making machine... for spammers!"

This is much the same spam as #5, above. Once you pay your money, you'll be sent instructions on how to place ads and pull in suckers to "turn their computers into money-making machines."

3. Multi-Level Marketing (MLM)

If you've heard of network marketing (like Amway), then you know that there are legitimate MLM businesses based on agents selling products or services.

One big problem with MLMs, though, is when the pyramid and the ladder-climbing become more important than selling the actual product or service.

If the MLM business opportunity is all about finding new recruits rather than selling products or services, beware: The Federal Trade Commission may consider it to be a pyramid scheme... and not only can you lose all your money, but you can be charged with fraud, too!

We saw an interesting MLM scam recently: one MLM company advertised the product they were selling as FREE. The fine print, however, states that it is "free in the sense that you could be earning commissions and bonuses in excess of the cost of your monthly purchase of" the product. Does that sound like free to you?

2. Chain Letters/Emails ("Make Money Fast")

If you've been on the Internet for any length of time, you've probably received or at least seen these chain emails. They promise that all you have to do is send the email along plus some money by mail to the top names on the list, then add your name to the bottom... and one day you'll be a millionaire.

Actually, the only thing you might be one day is prosecuted for fraud. This is a classic pyramid scheme, and most times the names in the chain emails are manipulated to make sure only the people at the top of the list (the true scammers) make any money.

This scam should be called "Lose Money Fast" -- and it's illegal.

1. Envelope Stuffing

This is THE classic work-at-home scam. It's been around since the U.S. Depression of the 1920s and 1930s, and it's moved onto the Internet like a cockroach you just can't eliminate.

There are several variations, but here's a sample: Much like #5 and #4 above, you are promised to be paid $1-2 for every envelope you stuff. All you have to do is send money and you're guaranteed "up to 1,000 envelopes a week that you can stuff... with postage and address already affixed!"

When you send your money, you get a short manual with flyer templates you're supposed to put up around town, advertising yet another harebrained work-from-home scheme.

And the pre-addressed, pre-paid envelopes? Well, when people see those flyers, all they have to do is send you $2.00 in a pre-addressed, pre-paid envelope. Then you stuff that envelope with another flyer and send it to them.

Ingenious perhaps... but certainly illegal and unethical.

Brya's Baskets - Handmade Scented Bath Salts

Once again we had the opportunity to try some more products from Diane @ Brya's Baskets! We received some handmade scented bath salt samples from Diane and we are once again elated! When Diane informed me that she creates these handmade scented bath salts herself, I was immediately impressed! I wouldn't even begin to know where to start with creating something like bath salts!

When we received the handmade scented bath salt samples, I opened up the package and was immediately greeted with the most amazing yummy scents!! My daughter and I tried out some of the samples and quickly decided that our two favorites are the birthday cake bath salts & the raspberry truffles bath salts! The scented bath salts truly smelled like their name. How clever! : )

When I got out of the bath, after using the handmade scented bath salts, I noticed that my skin was left with a luxurious silky feel. Not a film... I truly had a silky beautiful feeling to my skin! Almost like it had been moisturized somehow!?! When my husband came home from work... he kissed me and instantly he asked me if I had been baking. I giggled and said no... he bent closer and he told me that I smelled so yummy and immediately wanted to know what it was that he was smelling. I told him about Diane's handmade scented bath salts and he was impressed. He then also agreed that my skin did have a silky smooth luxurious feeling to it. He was so enthralled with the smell... that I decided I better bake him some cuppie cakes. : )

It's A Woman's Bag - Wallet

JoAnn @ It's A Woman's Bag needed some help submitting her website to the search engines. After I was done, JoAnn so graciously offered me a wallet for my help and services. She gave me a choice of any wallet and while it was very difficult to pick which one I wanted... I finally made my pick.

When I received the wallet I was beyond thrilled! The wallet had 1 ID slot, 9 card slots, a zippered coin pocket, checkbook separator, and 2 full length pockets and even came with a removable matching checkbook cover!

I am the type of person who takes the kitchen sink with me when I go some where... so imagine my surprise to see a wallet so slender... with so much room for all the things I carry! I have everything I had in my big clunky old wallet... in my new slim wallet and it's not bulging and it closes perfectly! What a great product!
